CVE-2026-9758 Details
Description
Improper comparison with the certificates trusted list in S2OPC allows an attacker well-formed untrusted certificate to be considered trusted
A vulnerability in S2OPC in versions starting from 1.5.0 allows a well-formed untrusted certificate to be incorrectly accepted as trusted. This issue arises during the certificate validation process, specifically in the Trust List Check step, which is supposed to verify peer certificates against a trusted certificates list. The flaw lies in an improper comparison that can lead to a match being falsely recognized based on partial data, allowing untrusted certificates to be accepted erroneously.
The vulnerability has been addressed in version 1.7.3 of the S2OPC Toolkit.
