Description
When OIDC authentication is enabled in configuration, clients may set specific values in the "mechanism" parameter of the "authenticate" command that lead to server crash. The authenticate command is accessible to unauthenticated clients, leading to pre-auth denial-of-service in affected product configurations.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in MongoDB when OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication is enabled. Clients can send specific values in the 'mechanism' parameter of the 'authenticate' command, which is accessible to unauthenticated clients. This can lead to a server crash, causing a pre-authentication denial-of-service condition.
Users can upgrade to MongoDB versions 8.3.3 or 8.2.10 to address this vulnerability.
