Description
A vulnerability was found in ST Engineering iDirect Evolution and Velocity WebServer Evolution up to 20260717. This affects an unknown part of the file /login.html of the component Management Service. Performing a manipulation of the argument Host results in open redirect. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
An open redirect vulnerability has been identified in ST Engineering iDirect Evolution and Velocity WebServer versions through 20260717. This issue arises in the Management Service component, specifically within the file '/login.html'. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to manipulate the 'Host' header, controlling the redirect destination. This flaw has been publicly disclosed and could be exploited.
It is recommended not to trust the 'Host' header for constructing redirect URLs. Instead, use a fixed management domain or IP address, or return relative redirects. If the 'Host' header must be used, implement whitelisting and filter out control characters and invalid ports.
