Description
A flaw has been found in vas3k TaxHacker up to 0.8.5. Affected by this vulnerability is the function testLLMProviderAction of the file app/(app)/apps/settings/actions.ts. Executing a manipulation of the argument provider/apiKey/model/baseUrl can lead to server-side request forgery. The attack may be performed from remote. The exploit has been published and may be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability has been identified in vas3k TaxHacker versions through 0.8.5. The issue resides in the testLLMProviderAction function within the file app/(app)/apps/settings/actions.ts. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to manipulate the provider, apiKey, model, and baseUrl arguments, leading to unauthorized HTTP requests being sent from the server to internal or external resources. The vulnerability is fully exploitable in self-hosted mode without any authentication, and has been acknowledged by the project maintainers.
Users are advised to update to the latest version of vas3k TaxHacker, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
