Description
Cotonti through 1.0.0 fails to validate anti-CSRF tokens in the contact plugin submission handler, allowing attackers to forge messages. Attackers can auto-submit contact forms from attacker-controlled pages to send forged messages attributed to authenticated victims to the administrator inbox.
A cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability has been identified in Cotonti versions through 1.0.0. The issue arises in the contact plugin's submission handler, which fails to validate anti-CSRF tokens. This oversight allows attackers to forge messages by auto-submitting contact forms from pages they control. The forged messages are sent to the administrator's inbox, appearing to come from authenticated users.
Users are advised to update to Cotonti version 1.0.1 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
