Description
ArcadeDB before 26.9.1 fails to enforce security-group types ACL entries for TimeSeries types because the ACL resolver builds permissions from bucket IDs, but TimeSeries types do not own normal record buckets. An authenticated low-privilege user can read or insert TimeSeries samples despite explicit deny rules by exploiting the missing type-name-based access check that causes permission lookups to fail open.
A vulnerability exists in ArcadeDB versions prior to 26.9.1, where the access control list (ACL) for TimeSeries types is not properly enforced. This issue arises because the ACL resolver derives permissions from bucket IDs, and TimeSeries types do not have standard record buckets. As a result, an authenticated low-privilege user can read or insert TimeSeries samples, circumventing explicit deny rules. The vulnerability exploits the absence of type-name-based access checks, leading to a failure in permission lookups that allows unauthorized actions.
Users can upgrade to ArcadeDB version 26.9.1 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
