Description
SiYuan before 3.8.4 renders document titles as HTML in the backlink dock tree without escaping markup characters. Attackers can set malicious titles through the rename API or crafted notebooks to execute scripts in the Electron renderer with access to child_process for command execution.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in SiYuan versions through 3.8.3. The issue arises because the application renders document titles as HTML in the backlink dock tree without properly escaping markup characters. This vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious scripts that are executed in the Electron renderer, with access to the child_process module for command execution.
Users can update to SiYuan version 3.8.4 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
