Description
A Stored Cross-Site Scripting security issue exists within FactoryTalk® DataMosaix™ Private Cloud. The vulnerability stems from improper neutralization of user-supplied input within the Workflows configuration. An authenticated attacker with high privileges can inject malicious scripts that are permanently stored on the server. This vulnerability can result in the execution of malicious JavaScript when other users access the affected page, potentially allowing for account takeover, credential theft, or redirection to a malicious website.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk DataMosaix Private Cloud, affecting version 8.02 and below. This issue arises from inadequate sanitization of user input in the Workflows configuration, allowing authenticated attackers with high privileges to inject malicious scripts. These scripts are permanently stored on the server and executed as JavaScript when other users access the affected page. The vulnerability could lead to account takeover, credential theft, or redirection to malicious websites.
Users can upgrade to FactoryTalk DataMosaix Private Cloud version 8.03 to address this vulnerability. For those unable to upgrade, Rockwell Automation recommends following their security best practices.
