Description
The Import and export users and customers WordPress plugin before 2.5.2 does not correctly enforce the promote_users capability when assigning roles during a CSV import, allowing users with only the create_users capability to create new administrator accounts or promote existing users to administrator.
A vulnerability exists in the WordPress Import and Export Users and Customers plugin in versions prior to 2.5.2. The issue arises because the plugin fails to properly enforce the 'promote_users' capability when roles are assigned during a CSV import. This flaw allows users with only the 'create_users' capability to either create new administrator accounts or elevate existing users to the administrator role.
Users are advised to update the Import and Export Users and Customers WordPress plugin to version 2.5.2 or later.
