Description
A vulnerability has been found in chatwoot up to 4.17.1. This impacts an unknown function of the file callbacks_controller.rb of the component Shopify OAuth. The manipulation leads to server-side request forgery. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability has been identified in Chatwoot versions through 4.17.1, specifically within the Shopify OAuth integration. The issue arises in the callbacks_controller.rb file, where user input is not properly validated before being used to construct an OAuth2 client. This flaw allows authenticated users to manipulate the shop parameter, redirecting requests to an attacker-controlled server and exfiltrating sensitive Shopify app credentials. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely, and the details have been publicly disclosed.
