Description
A vulnerability was found in GPAC up to f1219cde. This affects the function gf_bt_report of the file scene_manager/loader_bt.c of the component MP4Box. The manipulation results in memory corruption. The attack may be performed from remote. The exploit has been made public and could be used. Upgrading to version abi-16.23 is able to mitigate this issue. A memory corruption vulnerability has been identified in GPAC versions prior to abi-16.23. The issue arises in the MP4Box application, specifically within the BT/BIFS loader component. The vulnerability is triggered by the 'gf_bt_parse_bifs_command' function, which improperly handles malformed BT/BIFS commands. This mismanagement leads to a NULL pointer dereference, causing a segmentation fault. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely, particularly affecting applications or automated media pipelines that process untrusted BT/BIFS inputs.
Users are advised to upgrade to GPAC version abi-16.23 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
