Description
A vulnerability has been found in GPAC up to f1219cde. Affected by this issue is the function lsr_exec_command_list of the file laser/lsr_dec.c of the component MP4Box. A vulnerability exists in GPAC versions prior to abi-16.23 within the MP4Box application. The issue arises in the 'lsr_exec_command_list' function of 'laser/lsr_dec.c', where a reachable assertion failure occurs. This vulnerability requires local access to exploit. When a crafted MP4 file is processed, the assertion 'codec->bs' fails, leading to a program crash. The root cause is improper handling of the LASeR bitstream, leaving it in an unclean state after processing malformed scene data. This vulnerability has been publicly disclosed and can be reproduced using a specific proof-of-concept file.
Users can upgrade to GPAC version abi-16.23 to address this vulnerability.
