Description
The WP Compress WordPress plugin before 7.10.04 does not validate the value of a query parameter that controls the asset CDN host before using it to build the URLs of JavaScript files emitted on the page, leading to Reflected XSS. When a visitor follows a crafted link, the WP Compress WordPress plugin before 7.10.04's loader injects script elements pointing to an attacker-controlled origin, which lets the attacker execute arbitrary JavaScript in the visitor's session on the target site.
A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WP Compress WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 7.10.04. The issue arises because the plugin does not properly validate a query parameter that controls the asset CDN host. This lack of validation allows an attacker to inject script elements that point to a malicious origin. When a user clicks on a crafted link, the injected script is executed in the context of the user's session on the site, potentially leading to the execution of arbitrary JavaScript.
Users are advised to update the WP Compress WordPress plugin to version 7.10.04 or later.
