Description
A vulnerability was determined in cym1102 nginxWebUI up to 4.4.2. This issue affects the function MainController.autoUpdate of the file /adminPage/main/autoUpdate. This manipulation of the argument url causes code injection. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. A remote code execution vulnerability exists in cym1102 nginxWebUI versions through 4.4.2. The issue arises in the MainController.autoUpdate function, where the 'url' argument can be manipulated to inject malicious code. This vulnerability allows for remote exploitation, as the injected code is executed on the server.
The pull request to fix this vulnerability is currently pending acceptance. In the meantime, users can manually disable or restrict the 'autoUpdate' function to prevent arbitrary URL downloads and execution.
