Affected is the function get_surge_subscription of the file services/subscription.py of the component Subscription Handler. Such manipulation of the argument key leads to improper access controls. The issue is located in the Subscription Handler component, specifically within the get_surge_subscription function of services/subscription.py. The vulnerability arises from improper access controls, allowing for credential leakage. When a Surge subscription is generated, the raw SECRET_KEY is embedded as a query parameter in the subscription URL, which is then included in the user's configuration file. This key can be exposed through proxy logs, browser history, and configuration backups, potentially leading to full account takeover.
