Description
IBM WebSphere Application Server 9.0, and 8.5 is vulnerable to server-side request forgery (SSRF) with the Ajax Proxy configured. This may allow an attacker to send unauthorized requests from the system, resulting in a security bypass or information disclosure.
A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability has been identified in IBM WebSphere Application Server versions 9.0 and 8.5, when the Ajax Proxy is configured. This vulnerability may allow an attacker to send unauthorized requests from the server, potentially leading to a security bypass or information disclosure.
Users are advised to upgrade to the latest fix pack that includes the fix for APAR PH71556. For WebSphere Application Server traditional, version 9.0.0.0 through 9.0.5.28 should upgrade to the minimum fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply the interim fix for PH71556. Alternatively, Fix Pack 9.0.5.29 or later can be applied, with targeted availability in the third quarter of 2026. For versions 8.5.0.0 through 8.5.5.29, the same upgrade and interim fix application process applies, or Fix Pack 8.5.5.30 or later can be applied, also with targeted availability in the third quarter of 2026.
