CVE-2026-89086 Details
Description
In the jose package before 0.11.0 for OCaml, library calls to validate an RSA signature only confirm that PKCS #1 decoding succeeds, and proceed to declare the signature valid without the required steps that involve the public key.
A vulnerability exists in the JOSE package for OCaml, specifically in versions prior to 0.11.0. The issue arises because the library's RSA signature validation process only verifies that the PKCS #1 decoding is correct. It fails to properly validate the signature against the public key, allowing for potential forgery of signatures.
Users can upgrade to JOSE version 0.11.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
