CVE-2026-89002 Details
Description
The WPeMatico RSS Feed Fetcher WordPress plugin before 2.8.26 does not sanitize and escape content it retrieves from a user-supplied source before rendering it, which could allow users such as contributors to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks against higher-privileged users who review the campaign.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WPeMatico RSS Feed Fetcher WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 2.8.26. The issue arises because the plugin fails to properly sanitize and escape content retrieved from user-supplied sources before displaying it. This lack of proper handling could enable users with contributor roles to execute stored cross-site scripting attacks against higher-privileged users who review the campaign items.
Users are advised to update the WPeMatico RSS Feed Fetcher WordPress plugin to version 2.8.26 or later.
