CVE-2026-88824 Details
Description
The Master Blocks WordPress plugin before 1.5.0 does not have authorisation on one of its REST routes, allowing unauthenticated users to update its settings, including a value that is output unescaped in the admin area, leading to Stored XSS that executes in the session of any administrator visiting a wp-admin page.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Master Blocks WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 1.5.0. The issue arises because the plugin's REST route lacks proper authorization, allowing unauthenticated users to modify settings. One of the adjustable values is rendered unescaped in the admin area, which can lead to the execution of malicious scripts in the context of an administrator's session when they visit a wp-admin page.
Users are advised to update the Master Blocks WordPress plugin to version 1.5.0 or later.
