Description
IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty are vulnerable to remote code execution and denial of service in the WebSphere Web Server Plug-in component. This vulnerability can be exploited when an attacker impersonates the application server and sends crafted responses to the plug-in.
A vulnerability allowing remote code execution and denial-of-service has been identified in the WebSphere Web Server Plug-in component of IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty. This issue affects IBM i versions 7.6, 7.5, 7.4, and 7.3. The vulnerability arises when an attacker impersonates the application server and sends crafted responses to the plug-in, exploiting the application's trust in the server's identity.
Users are advised to upgrade to a supported version of IBM i that includes the fix. The following PTF numbers are available for each affected version: - IBM i 7.6: SJ10122 - IBM i 7.5: SJ10121 - IBM i 7.4: SJ10120 - IBM i 7.3: SJ10119
