CVE-2026-87987 Details
Description
An arbitrary code execution vulnerability in Mistral Vibe allows an attacker to bypass command permission checks using environment variable assignments preceding allowlisted commands. These assignments are excluded from inspection, enabling attacker-controlled environment variables to cause arbitrary code execution without user approval.
A vulnerability in Mistral Vibe versions starting from 2.6.0 allows arbitrary code execution by exploiting environment variable assignments that precede allowlisted commands. The application fails to consider these variable assignments during permission checks, enabling attacker-controlled variables to manipulate command behavior in a way that executes arbitrary code without user approval. This issue is particularly dangerous when allowlisted utilities like Git are involved, as the environment variables can be used to execute malicious commands under the guise of approved actions.
