Description
The Comments Import & Export WordPress plugin before 2.5.4 does not restrict its comment export to users able to moderate comments, nor scope the export to content owned by the requesting user, allowing users with the Author role and above to retrieve every comment on the site, including commenter email addresses, IP addresses, unapproved comment content and comment meta.
A vulnerability in the Comments Import & Export WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 2.5.4, allows users with the Author role and above to export all comments from the site. The exported data includes commenter email addresses, IP addresses, unapproved comment content, and comment metadata. This issue arises because the plugin does not limit comment exports to users who can moderate comments or restrict the export to content owned by the requesting user.
Users are advised to update the Comments Import & Export WordPress plugin to version 2.5.4 or later.
