Description
SiYuan before v3.8.2 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Search Assets result list where asset filenames are interpolated into HTML without escaping. Authenticated attackers can craft asset filenames containing malicious markup that executes JavaScript in the victim's browser when searching assets, enabling same-origin API requests and application state manipulation.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in SiYuan versions prior to 3.8.2. The issue arises in the Search Assets result list, where asset filenames are inserted into the HTML without proper escaping. This allows authenticated attackers to create filenames with malicious markup that can execute JavaScript in the browser of users searching for assets. The vulnerability could be exploited to make same-origin API requests and manipulate application state.
Users are advised to update to SiYuan version 3.8.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
