Description
The Sprout Invoices WordPress plugin before 20.8.16 does not perform a capability or ownership check before allowing a private note to be overwritten through one of its AJAX actions, allowing any authenticated user such as a subscriber to overwrite private notes on records belonging to other users.
A vulnerability exists in the Sprout Invoices WordPress plugin in versions prior to 20.8.16. The issue arises because the plugin's AJAX actions allow private notes to be overwritten without proper capability or ownership checks. This flaw enables any authenticated user, including subscribers, to modify private notes on records belonging to other users.
Users are advised to update the Sprout Invoices WordPress plugin to version 20.8.16 or later.
