Description
bestzip versions 2.2.6 and 3.0.2 contain an argument injection vulnerability in the nativeZip function that allows attackers to inject arbitrary arguments to the Info-ZIP backend. Attackers can supply a malicious destination path combined with crafted source entries to execute arbitrary commands with Node.js process privileges. Fixed in 2.2.7 and 3.0.3.
A vulnerability allowing argument injection has been identified in bestzip versions 2.2.6 and 3.0.2. This issue arises in the nativeZip function, where attackers can inject arbitrary arguments into the Info-ZIP backend. By supplying a malicious destination path along with crafted source entries, it is possible to execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the Node.js process. The vulnerability has been patched in bestzip versions 2.2.7 and 3.0.3.
Users can upgrade to bestzip versions 2.2.7 or 3.0.3 to address this vulnerability.
