Description
Incorrect authorization in PushAPI in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to bypass web origin policy via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's PushAPI prior to version 153.0.8010.36 allows a remote attacker to bypass web origin policy. This issue arises from incorrect authorization that enables a compromised renderer process to manipulate push subscriptions of the embedding page, potentially violating privacy boundaries and facilitating cross-context tracking. The flaw is located in the PushMessagingManager, which fails to properly enforce storage partitioning for Fenced Frames.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
