CVE-2026-87640 Details
Description
Out of bounds read in WebView in Google Chrome on on Android prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to read memory outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A heap buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the WebView component of Google Chrome on Android, in versions prior to 153.0.8010.36. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker, who has compromised the renderer process, to read memory outside the sandboxed environment via a crafted HTML page. The issue arises from the deserialization of a malformed binary value, which can be exploited to access the host application's process memory, effectively escaping the renderer's sandbox restrictions.
Users can update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
