Description
Type confusion in XML in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A type confusion vulnerability has been identified in Google Chrome versions prior to 153.0.8010.36. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to potentially execute arbitrary code within the sandbox by using a crafted HTML page. The issue arises from improper handling of XML documents by the libxslt library, specifically in the 'document()' function, which can be exploited to overwrite internal metadata and manipulate the execution of XSLT stylesheets.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
