Description
Cross-site scripting in SanitizerAPI in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to bypass web origin policy via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Google Chrome versions prior to 153.0.8010.36. This issue allows remote attackers to bypass web origin policies by exploiting the SanitizerAPI with a specially crafted HTML page. The vulnerability arises because the streaming HTML methods process custom element callbacks before the sanitizer can remove potentially harmful elements, enabling the exfiltration of sensitive data such as cookies to attacker-controlled URLs.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
