CVE-2026-87629 Details
Description
Incorrect authorization in Sources in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to leak sensitive information via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Low)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome in the Sources component prior to version 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to leak sensitive information through a crafted HTML page, exploiting incorrect authorization. This issue arises because the 'connect-src' Content Security Policy (CSP) directive, which should block 'sourceMappingURL' requests, can be bypassed. The vulnerability is triggered when an iframe is used to inject a source map request that exfiltrates data, such as cookies, to an external server. The attack is executed silently, without user awareness.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
