Description
Missing authorization in FedCM in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to bypass web origin policy via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's Federated Credential Management (FedCM) component, present in versions prior to 153.0.8010.36, allowed remote attackers to bypass web origin policies. This was achieved through a crafted HTML page that exploited missing authorization checks in the FedCM Disconnect API. The vulnerability enabled attackers to send credentialed requests from opaque origins or fenced frames to an Identity Provider's disconnect endpoint, potentially revoking account linkages without user consent.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
