Description
Out of bounds read in ANGLE in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to read memory outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A medium-severity out-of-bounds read vulnerability has been identified in the ANGLE component of Google Chrome, specifically in versions prior to 153.0.8010.36. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to read memory outside the sandbox by exploiting a crafted HTML page. The issue arises in ANGLE's Vulkan backend, where an incorrect buffer length calculation in the 'BufferVk::getIndexRange' function leads to unauthorized memory access on discrete GPUs via WebGL2.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
