Description
Confused deputy in DataTransfer in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A confused deputy vulnerability has been identified in the DataTransfer component of Google Chrome, prior to version 153.0.8010.36. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker, who has compromised the renderer process, to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox by using a crafted HTML page. The issue arises from improper validation of clipboard operations, which can be exploited to read sensitive files from the user's system.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
