CVE-2026-87577 Details
Description
Incorrect authorization in Isolated in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to bypass web origin policy into a privileged page via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's handling of Isolated Web Apps (IWAs) prior to version 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to bypass web origin policies. This is achieved by exploiting a logic error in the IsolatedWebAppThrottle, which incorrectly treats data: URL iframes as trusted origins. As a result, attackers can navigate these iframes to sensitive internal IWA routes, potentially leading to cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks or exploitation of DOM-based cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities within the IWA environment.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
