CVE-2026-87570 Details
Description
Incorrect authorization in SiteIsolation in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process and leveraged social engineering to bypass site isolation via a crafted file. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's Site Isolation feature prior to version 153.0.8010.36 allows a remote attacker to bypass site isolation controls. This is achieved by exploiting a flaw in the handling of MHTML subframes, where a compromised renderer can spoof origins and manipulate communications on behalf of a victim. The issue arises from incorrect authorization checks that fail to validate the precursor origins of opaque origins in MHTML subframes, enabling the renderer to bypass security boundaries and potentially execute malicious actions.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
