Description
Incorrect reference resolution in FileSystem in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's File System Access API on Android has been identified, specifically in versions prior to 153.0.8010.36. This issue involves an incorrect reference resolution that allows a remote attacker, through social engineering, to potentially execute arbitrary code outside of the browser's sandbox. The vulnerability arises when the File System Access API interacts with Content URI-backed directories, bypassing essential path validation and escaping the user's approved directory scope.
