Description
Incorrect authorization in FileSystem in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to bypass site isolation via a crafted PDF file. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's FileSystem component, affecting versions prior to 153.0.8010.36, allowed a remote attacker to bypass site isolation measures. This was achieved through a crafted PDF file that exploited incorrect authorization in the FileSystemManager implementation. The vulnerability emerged because while the 'Open' method properly validated access for PDF processes, other methods bypassed this check, enabling unauthorized access to the origin's sandboxed HTML5 FileSystem.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
