Description
Use after free in Core in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted Chrome extension. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the Core component of Google Chrome, affecting versions prior to 153.0.8010.36. This vulnerability allows remote attackers, through social engineering, to execute arbitrary code outside of the browser's sandbox by using a specially crafted Chrome extension. The issue arises because the 'chrome.processes.terminate()' API can be exploited to create a race condition, leading to memory corruption.
Users can update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
