Description
Inappropriate implementation in Downloads in Google Chrome on on Android prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to bypass system access restrictions via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's Downloads feature on Android, in versions prior to 153.0.8010.36, allowed remote attackers to bypass Safe Browsing content scans. This was achieved by exploiting the background resumption of downloads in minimal browser mode, where certain safety checks were not applied. As a result, potentially harmful files could be downloaded and saved to the device without undergoing the necessary security evaluations.
Users can update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
