Description
Missing authorization in Omnibox in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to bypass system access restrictions into a privileged page via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's Omnibox feature, present in versions prior to 153.0.8010.36, allowed remote attackers to bypass system access restrictions and navigate to privileged pages. This was achieved through social engineering, by crafting an HTML page that exploited missing authorization. The vulnerability took advantage of how the browser handled clipboard selections and navigation, particularly on Linux systems using X11.
Users can update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
