Description
Incorrect authorization in Isolated in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to bypass site isolation via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's handling of Isolated Web Apps (IWAs) prior to version 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to bypass site isolation restrictions. This is achieved through a crafted HTML page that exploits a logical flaw in the IWA navigation process, enabling cross-IWA deep-linking and potential cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. The issue arises because the navigation capturing process disables cross-IWA checks for popups, allowing an attacker-controlled IWA to manipulate another IWA's state via deep-link actions.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
