Description
Incorrect authorization in Network in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to bypass web origin policy via a crafted Chrome extension. (Chromium security severity: High)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome prior to version 153.0.8010.36 allows remote attackers to bypass web origin policies through social engineering. This is achieved by exploiting incorrect authorization in the network service, where a malicious Chrome extension can manipulate SameSite cookie settings to execute cross-origin requests with the user's cookies attached, potentially leading to a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attack.
Users should update to Google Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
