Description
Mattermost Desktop App versions <=6.1 5.5.13.0 fail to account for attempting to open extremely long URLs in the Mattermost Desktop App which allows a malicious server owner to crash the application via including a script to call window.open on a very large URL. A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in the Mattermost Desktop App, affecting versions through 6.1 and 5.5.13.0. The issue arises when the application fails to properly handle extremely long URLs. A malicious server owner can exploit this by including a script that calls 'window.open' with a very large URL, causing the application to crash.
Users can upgrade to Mattermost Desktop App version 6.1.1 or later to address this vulnerability.
