Description
The WP Recipe Maker WordPress plugin before 10.8.2 does not have any authorisation check in one of its REST routes, nor does it bound what that route stores, allowing unauthenticated users to write unlimited data into any user's metadata and to permanently prevent that account, including an administrator's, from loading.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in the WP Recipe Maker WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 10.8.2. The issue arises from a lack of authorization checks in one of the plugin's REST routes, coupled with an absence of restrictions on the data that can be stored through that route. This flaw allows unauthenticated users to inject unlimited data into any user's metadata. As a result, it can permanently disrupt the affected account's ability to load, including accounts with administrative privileges.
Users are advised to update the WP Recipe Maker WordPress plugin to version 10.8.2 or later.
