Description
OS Command Injection vulnerability in the ping action of Rapid7 InsightConnect Ping Plugin on Linux allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via the host parameter due to insufficient input validation when constructing shell commands.
A command injection vulnerability has been identified in the Ping action of the Rapid7 InsightConnect Ping Plugin, specifically in version 1.0.5, running on Linux. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands by exploiting the host parameter. The issue arises from inadequate input validation when the plugin constructs shell commands, creating an opportunity for malicious command execution.
