Description
OS Command Injection vulnerability in Rapid7 InsightConnect Tcpdump Plugin on Linux allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via the options or filter parameters due to insufficient input sanitization in shell command construction.
A command injection vulnerability has been identified in the Rapid7 InsightConnect Tcpdump Plugin for Linux. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands by exploiting the options or filter parameters. The issue arises from inadequate input validation in the construction of shell commands.
Users are advised to update to Tcpdump Plugin version 2.0.1, which addresses the input validation issue that allowed OS command injection. The updated version is available through the Rapid7 Extension Library.
