CVE-2026-86553 Details
Description
SmartLife app dynamically generates fresh SmartLife application authentication parameters inside its runtime process. Using the acquired SmartLife application authentication parameters, an attacker can directly call the backend interface /account/verify.serv to obtain the real account ID corresponding to a registered email address. By spoofing the application authentication information together with the target account ID, the attacker can reset the password of the target account.
A vulnerability in the ZTE SmartLife app allows for unauthorized password resets. The app generates authentication parameters during runtime, which can be exploited to call a backend interface that verifies accounts linked to email addresses. By spoofing the authentication data and the verified account ID, an attacker can reset the password for the targeted account.
Users can upgrade to ZTE SmartLife version 2.8.4_ABROAD to address this vulnerability. For assistance, contact the ZTE Global Customer Support Center.
