CVE-2026-86552 Details
Description
SmartLife app dynamically generates brand‑new SmartLife application authentication parameters at runtime. With the acquired SmartLife application authentication credentials, an attacker can directly complete registration using any arbitrary email address via the backend interface /account/person/signup.serv. Email ownership is not verified prior to registration.
A vulnerability in the ZTE SmartLife application allows for account registration using any email address, as the app fails to verify email ownership before creating an account. This issue arises because the SmartLife app generates authentication parameters dynamically at runtime. With these credentials, an attacker can exploit the backend registration interface.
Users can upgrade to ZTE SmartLife version 2.8.4_ABROAD to address this vulnerability. For assistance, contact the ZTE Global Customer Support Center.
