CVE-2026-86542 Details
Description
knowns before 0.30.0 fails to validate import names in the import routes, allowing unauthenticated attackers to write files outside the imports directory. Attackers can supply traversal sequences in the name parameter to escape the imports directory and overwrite arbitrary files writable by the server process.
A path traversal vulnerability has been identified in Knowns versions prior to 0.30.0. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to manipulate import names in a way that escapes the designated imports directory, enabling them to write files to arbitrary locations on the server. Exploitation involves sending a crafted name parameter that includes traversal sequences, which the application fails to properly validate. As a result, attackers can overwrite files that are writable by the server process.
Upgrade to Knowns version 0.30.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
