Description
A vulnerability was detected in ggml-org llama.cpp up to 0.4.0. This impacts the function rpc_server::deserialize_tensor of the file ggml/src/ggml-rpc/ggml-rpc.cpp of the component RPC Server. Performing a manipulation of the argument ne results in reachable assertion. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. The reported GitHub issue was closed automatically due to inactivity.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in ggml-org llama.cpp versions through 0.4.0. The issue arises in the RPC server component, specifically within the 'deserialize_tensor' function of 'ggml/src/ggml-rpc/ggml-rpc.cpp'. The vulnerability allows for a remote crash of the server by sending a crafted tensor dimension that bypasses validation, leading to an assertion failure and an abort signal.
Users are advised to update to version 0.4.1, where this vulnerability has been patched.
